Waking Up With Mozh & MoGlow: NYC Edition

Published on
February 27, 2026

As the CEO of MoGlow, I'm proud and excited that our intuitive beauty mirror is almost officially out in the world! You might not know this about me, but this launch marks a significant milestone in a journey that began while I was deeply immersed in a prior career. That experience, which I genuinely loved, provided an invaluable foundation for MoGlow's development.

Quick Background: My “Double” Life

For a considerable period, I navigated the path of self-funding MoGlow, effectively balancing two careers. As we transitioned into the launch phase, I fully dedicated my efforts to MoGlow, committing to its growth and success full-time.

You see, for the past three decades, I've been a strategist and marketer in the legal world. And that's where my love affair with New York City truly began. Back in the late 90s (yes, I'm revealing my age!), as Chief Marketing Officer for a West Coast law firm, we set our sights on also having an East Coast presence.

This meant countless trips to NYC for client gatherings, biotech and venture capital conferences, and alike. During this back-and-forth travel, I found myself living out of hotels, onboarding talent, and marketing to clients, all while based in San Francisco.

Later on, after co-founding my own law firm management, strategy, and marketing consulting firm, I ended up working in New York for a week each month. It wasn’t long before I moved there full-time, living in Midtown for several years.

Fast forward to 2026, and my visits to this electrifying city are now a rich tapestry of past, present, and future: a blend of my long-standing legal career, the exciting new chapter with MoGlow, and simply, my unwavering love for this one-of-a-kind, energizing metropolis.

A Day In My Life: New York City

Here’s a glimpse into a typical NYC day for me—in classic NYC style, it’s essentially organized chaos.

7:30 AM: Rise & Shine

My alarm signals the start of the day. A glass of water, followed by a 20-minute in-room strengthening and stretching workout. That’s the ideal scenario—but if I'm being fully candid, I start checking three sets of emails and texts right after my morning glass of water (law firm, MoGlow, and personal). I respond and move things forward in between every activity throughout the day until I turn out the lights at bed time!

Next, a refreshing shower, and of course, my essential skincare and makeup routine, perfected with my MoGlow mirror. A light touch up on my hair, and I’m ready to conquer the day.

(A quick sidebar: Choosing my outfits before any trip to NYC is a serious pre-game ritual. I pack a mix of professional dresses and dressy pants with shirts, balanced with casual outfits—think jeans, chic t-shirts, and, crucially, walking shoes. My footwear collection includes heels, but also trusty Rag & Bone boots and my favorite Golden Goose high tops.)

9:00 AM: Brain Fuel

Breakfast is either a Juice Generation cold warrior (even in summer!) with a protein shake, or Greek yogurt and berries from in-room dining. (In-room dining is a must on hair-wash days!) If I can skip a wash, I’ll often squeeze in a morning walk to Juice Generation before heading to the office.

9:30 AM: Work starts!

When I’m focused on my legal career, my days are spent collaborating, strategizing, and implementing plans with managing partners, COOs, partner teams, and the marketing and business development teams–think of it as managing the business of a law firm.

When I’m focused on MoGlow, my days are spent on everything (!!) with an emphasis on what is essential to get done today (or this week) to advance our company closer to launch–the critical path items! This includes developing specific weekly goals with tactics from several of these key functions: strategy, finance, technology, research and development, engineering, prototyping, patents and trademarks, logistics and operations (including production, sourcing, quality management, distribution), design, marketing, branding (including social media and advertising), communications, and business development.

12.30 PM: Lunch

Although I avoid breakfast meetings, lunch is non-negotiable; it’s the time to shift my mindset and bond with colleagues. You’ll often find me at Oceana (at the high-top tables in the bar), Aldo Sohm Wine Bar (limited but excellent lunch menu), The Whitby Restaurant, or, if I’m looking for some more vibrant energy, Limani NYC, or La Pecora Bianca Bryant Park

2.00 PM: Back to work

I dive right back into where I left off in the morning!

5:30 PM: NYC Unplugged

This is where my evenings truly vary, but one constant remains: I average five miles of walking a day. Whether it's drinks and dinner with friends from the legal or MoGlow world, venturing downtown to Tribeca for dinner, exploring Central Park, or the Lincoln Center area before dinner at Columbus Circle, or catching a quick bite before a Broadway show, I'm constantly moving and soaking in the city’s energy.

My regular dinner spots are a curated list of favorites: Il Corso, Blue Ribbon Sushi (Columbus Circle), 53 NYC (contemporary Asian), Nougatine (by Jean-Georges), Le Rock, L’Avenue at Saks, the delicious Hangawi (vegan Korean), and Momofuku (Columbus Circle).

Some of my entertainment spots are the Mercury Lounge, Joyce Theater, The Comedy Cellar, 54 Below and of course, Broadway! I've recently been captivated by shows like the revival of ArtJohn Proctor is the Villain, Maybe Happy Ending, Hold on to Me Darling, and The Roommate on Broadway

My urban explorations have also taken me to the majestic NYC Public Library (5th Avenue and Bryant Park), on walks south on 5th Avenue from The Pierre Hotel to the Guggenheim Museum, and through the exquisite shops on Madison Avenue (Upper East Side) and 5th Avenue (between 55th and 42nd Streets).

And of course, I can’t do without my cherished walks through Central Park, Bryant Park, Little Island (at Pier 55), The Hudson, and The High Line.

10:30 PM - Midnight: The Wind-Down

I always walk back to my hotel, no matter how late. My wind-down routine is sacred: a travel candle, Pandora music, plenty of water, a long shower, and my essential skin and dental care ritual, all performed in front of my MoGlow mirror. Finally, I apply my favorite oils and lotions, ready to drift off and dream.

This dual-path journey allows me to not only fund MoGlow but also to continuously draw inspiration from the diverse experiences and unwavering energy of New York City. Just like MoGlow supports your rituals, this city enhances my every endeavor.

Are you a NYC lover too?
