The Power of Wellness for Busy Lives

Women have been conditioned to believe that spending time in front of a mirror is a luxury we can only afford on slow Sundays. When you zoom out, the truth is exactly the opposite: consistently prioritizing your wellness is scientifically proven to improve your life.
Studies show that women with regular self-care routines have lower cortisol levels, sleep better, and feel more satisfied with their lives. It’s the oxygen mask philosophy: whether you’re building your career, a family, or a community (or all of the above), you need to take care of yourself first.
We sat down with MoGlow client (and friend!) Ashlyn to talk about juggling priorities and making time for beauty. Here’s how self-care helps her show up as her best self, and why beauty rituals are a non-negotiable investment in your own success.

Transform chaos into clarity
“Market shifts, school schedules, travel delays… In a world of things I can’t control,” Ashlyn told us, “My skincare and grooming are in my control.”
Humans thrive on routine, and that includes beauty routines! Without structure, it’s easy to feel frazzled. Self-care keeps the chaos at bay. That’s why we say the MoGlow mirror is a portal to your best self—because we know taking time for yourself each day brings you back to center and frees up your mental energy.
That could mean removing distractions during your routine, like getting into the habit of taking your supplements as soon as you switch on your ring light, or keeping your phone on Do Not Disturb and winding down while you remove your makeup. Even on Ashlyn’s busiest mornings, “I drink a glass of water before the house wakes up and spend 15 minutes on skincare.”
Show up with confidence
Have you ever noticed feeling good about your appearance creates a positive ripple effect? There’s an old saying from football coach Deion Sanders: “If you look good, you feel good. If you feel good, you do good.”
That’s a mindset we can get behind! Forget the idea that beauty rituals are all about vanity, and embrace them as a tool to unlock your full energy and confidence.
From walking into a presentation with your notes already memorized to standing a little taller in a well-tailored outfit, there’s a psychological shift that happens when you’ve taken time to prepare. Ashlyn notices it at work often: “Feeling confident about my look gives me the authority to speak up in meetings. I don’t have to worry about looking the part—I already do.”
That doesn’t mean you have to aim for perfection. Prioritize what you know makes you feel your best—whether that’s setting up the perfect lighting in your home office, mastering your go-to hairstyle between wash days, keeping your cuticles in tip-top shape, or finding your signature scent as the ultimate finishing touch.
For Ashlyn?“Glowy skin and groomed brows” are key to feeling put-together. “I use MoGlow so I can see every detail perfectly and feel confident. I never worry about harsh lights or unexpected run-ins with a neighbor.”

Get more from small moments
You’ve heard the saying: “We all have the same 24 hours in a day as Beyoncé.” True—if only we also had the same personal trainer, private chef, makeup artist, childcare, assistant…
Ashlyn told us one piece of advice she wishes she’d known sooner. “Stop trying to find more time and start using better tools.” In other words? Work smarter, not harder. Your routine should fit into your life, not the other way around, and you don’t need an hour at your vanity to feel beautiful and capable.
We’re all for simplifying your routine through multitasking beauty products, but there are so many ways to be intentional and present in the day-to-day. Try bringing “micro moments” of self-care into your routine: light a candle or apply your favorite scent for a sensory reset, add lemon or mint to upgrade your water, or take five minutes to declutter your desk and clear your headspace.
Those small, intentional moments can add up to significant benefits on your overall well-being. Don’t underestimate them—and never underestimate your ability to shine in everything you do.
